The alternator needs to be = mounted on the side, rather than the top, and the water pump needs to be = shortened. I took some pictures of a rotary installation at the SERFI = fly-in recently, (I believe it was Ed Anderson's), which showed the = water pump with a short adapter, and a radiator cap on top of it. This, = of course eliminates the place I assumed the main radiator hose would = attach. With this system, how does the water flow, and is there a = thermostat under that radiator cap? If so, what would be it's purpose? = (I am assuming that the water would have no place to go after the = thermostat opened). Any suggestions, especially pictures of alternate = methods of side mounting the alternator, and lowering the upper portion = of the water pump would be much appreciated.
