I don't think the heat available will upset the heat treat. Anything bolted to the aluminum stays pretty cool.
 
I used only GE tub and tile caulk 100% silicone for exhaust gaskets for 25 years without a failure. Even before I had EGT gages and was incinerating mufflers the silicone never gave up.
