I have read of numerous = problems in the contact magazine, I have lost the gear lube twice, once = was due to a vent/recirculation tank plumbed for cooling, the second = time the output shaft seal came out in flight resulting in a fire in = which the rollout resulted in a flip in a wheat field. My machinist = friend is going to dissemble the redrive this week and check the output = shaft for damage by dye and current and make a mechanical retainer to = keep the output shaft seal in. I'm glad that the gear breakage was = mentioned, as I will have him check the gear also. I had no luck = getting support from Marcotte and all the damage reports and solutions = to the problems with the Marcotte I've seen have been in the Contact = Magazine.
