Funny you should ask. I just had my experimental checked last week for the second time in its life. There is  a avionics shop in Idaho Falls Id. 80 miles away. Several of us get together and schedule him to come over and do all of our planes.Cost sharing saves some money. First time he checked my plane it was perfect, pitot/static, transponder.... 110.00 $   This time the blind encoder was off just a little and I did replace my falcon altimeter a few weeks ago so he redid the pitot/static check too. 125.00 $. I fly alot using flight following so transponder checks need to be done.
