An update from a lurker, My Partner and I opened up a maintenance shop to work on turbine "Epic's" in Bend Or. and now I can bring my RV-7 out of storage as I have the space (still working on the time) and all my tools in the same location! My Renisis will be moving to the shop also so hmmm, I'm almost outta excusses to NOT be working on her!

No, I'm not the fastest there, but i keep up just fine. The group includes (slowest to fastest best I can recall - there very well may be some inaccuracies and this is just a guess because I have not actually raced most of them): a 160 hp fp RV-6 (the only other fixed pitch prop except for myself) -schoolmom (white paint with minimal blue trim) a 160 hp c/s -6 -Rosie (white with green and yellow trim a 180 hp c/s -6 - Condor (white with blue and red trim a 180 hp c/s -7 -JP (unpainted... a.k.a "The Chino Paint Scheme" me a 180 h/p -8 -Hog (the beautiful red plane in the pics - has been on the cover of both Kitplanes and Sport Aviation) a 200 h/p -7 -Forrest (unpainted a 220 h/p -7 -Debris (unpainted a 200+ h/p -8 -Special Ed (white with yellow a 200+ h/p RV-4, Wingnut (unpainted
I have set my turbo to give me less than 5psi of boost over ambient. I have another turbo ready to install that would give me much more power and move me near the top of that list... but I just don't trust myself - things are running too well right now. Some of those guys I put as being slower can still out accelerate/climb because of their c/s props. I may be faster than Hog in level flight - not sure. Really though, except for Schoolmom, Special Ed and Wingnut; all those aircraft are VERY similar in performance.
There was a time that I was flying home from Oregon with Rosie and he was pulling away from me, while my speeds were much slower than usual.. I later discovered that my inlet duct had become dislodged and was partially blocking the air inlet to the turbo, and then I discovered that the muffler that I was trying out was costing me quite a bit of power, I am very sure I am faster than Rosie but that is still the only time we were flying together.

Great pictures and a lot of fun no doubt! I showed my dad the formations shots (since he is a retired Naval Aviator) and he said it definitely looked like a formation of Air Force guys (aka a "Thunder-chickens" type routine). :) It's great that you have such a large group of fellow RVer's to fly formation with as well!
Didn't you once mention that your rotary "6" is the fastest of that bunch? If so are any of them 200 hp variants (7's or 8's?).
