On my respect-o-meter the pecking order is.
1- Someone who had designed, built, fabricated all componants and test flown the plane gets a 100.
2- Someone who has NEVER build a plane, fabricated the parts for it, built a motor or strapped his or her butt in it for the first flight gets a big 0 ...............
Keyboard pilots/ engineers are a dime a dozen...
Now if it just quits snowing I can go flying.
