Mike if you could borrow the Bose it would round off the comparison
for others - like myself.

I flew the headset for 45 minutes today. For my airplane this headset is
the solution. I think Tracy hit the answer right. Typical ANR headsets use the
ANR to kill the low freqs and rely on passive attenuation to kill the higher
freq noise. I think the best headsets on the market get around 27dB of passive
atten. The Clarity headset claims 35 - 45dB depending on fit of the earbuds.
My guess is that is pretty optimistic since the best foamy earplugs claim
about 33dB.
In any case, having flown my buddy's Zulu headset a couple of weeks ago,
I can say that the Clarity is definitely much better than the Zulu in my
airplane. I dont think I'm going to bother borrowing the Bose - I'm sold on
this headset. Looking at it, its hard to justify the cost, but the bottom line
is that it works, and its half the cost of a Bose. And if you dont have an
issue with wearing earplugs, it's incredibly comfortable weighing in at 3
ounces.
10 hours now. And now with a fully functioning radio I can go out
and do some touch and goes, though today was the best landing yet - my
first squeaker.

Now come on Mike...we know you'll take the time to fully calibrate your
hearing system in order to provide the list with the most meaningful data
possible! Glad to see you're now enjoying the "4" more and able
to just go out and fly it. I unfortunately don't have any trips out
your way this fall so hopefully in the new calendar year we'll be bringing a
jet out your way and I can swing by and see it again.
