Typical ANR = headsets use the ANR to kill the low freqs and rely on passive = attenuation to kill the higher freq noise. I think the best headsets on = the market get around 27dB of passive atten. The Clarity headset claims = 35 - 45dB depending on fit of the earbuds. My guess is that is pretty = optimistic since the best foamy earplugs claim about 33dB. In any case, having flown my buddy's Zulu headset a couple of weeks = ago, I can say that the Clarity is definitely much better than the Zulu = in my airplane. I dont think I'm going to bother borrowing the Bose - = I'm sold on this headset. Looking at it, its hard to justify the cost, = but the bottom line is that it works, and its half the cost of a Bose. = And if you dont have an issue with wearing earplugs, it's incredibly = comfortable weighing in at 3 ounces. 10 hours now.
