That certainly could be, Steve.

My EFISM does not check the length of the string - it checks for the FF
termination byte that the EC2 apparently sends at the end of the engine data
frame - regardless of number of characters in the string.

In fact, I have found that the EC2 always send the FF termination string for
any data sent over the serial port  that is acknowledge by the EC2.  For
instance if you send the increment or decrement ignition advance, no FF is
returned because there is no echo acknowledgement of those two commands but
that is the only set I'm aware of that does not transmit the FF to signify
end of string.

However, I must say I have one of the old pre EM2 EC2 so may not have all
the magic the newer one does.

Although Tracy's list indicates the FFL and FFH data now at the end of the
list, I could not get my data collection program to work unless I shortened
the length of the data string received.  It appeared as if that data was
never transmitted by the updated EC2.

Steve is correct, Joe.

Apparently Tracy has put Battery voltage VBATL and VBATH in the positions
that FFL and FFH used to occupy in the string and have moved FFL and FFH to
the end of the string.  Since I don't use either in my EFISM unit, I never
noticed the change until Steve pointed it out.

VBATL EQU 0x11A
VBATH EQU 0x11B

At the end of the string Tracy now has move the fuel flow factors

FFL   EQU 0x12D
FFH EQU 0X12E

The FF data has been eliminated from my EC2's with recent updates so if you
plan on keeping your EC2 updated, the investment in interpreting this data
may not be very productive.

I am working on checking all engine instrument calibrations. For those who
may have done some work interfacing to the EC2's serial data, what does the
FF (FFL/FFH - Bytes 0x2E & 0x2F) represent?  Any insight to conversion
formulas is appreciated.
