I measure the injector PW and determine the time they are on and then using your injector flow rates (gotta know that), I calculated the amount of fuel passed for flow and fuel used. Get the rpm from that source as well. So I don't need the serial hook up for my EFISM to work - but if you want to talk to the EC2 with my EFISM unit then you do need the serial hookup. I have one user flying with just hooked to the injectors wiring harness and the O2 sensor. Doesn't want to mess talking with the EC2 {:>). The "FF" code is just an end of string code that Tracy uses to signify when the communication from the EC2 has finished transmitting its set of data.
