Do you have any electronics buddi= es? If you don't remove those chips evenly from the socket, you can damage the = pins on the socket, the pins of the IC and even the socket itself. If you a= bsolutely can't get the proper tool then sacrifice a pair of needle point t= weezers, split them in half and insert one half into each corner of socket = (extended groove) and gently and as evenly as possible, pry out the part.
