Just want to point out that my analysis of the Vi-Pec is very superficial. So far I find it particularly friendly to set up and install. Some features are impressive compared to other units I've installed. Definitely more robust (insensitive to variation). But there is a lot that I don't know. It only qualifies as "something to consider" for the rotary. When problem reports start coming in I can determine if it's NOT a good product. I'll probably never know that it IS a good product.

Guess that's the long way of saying: "I don't know"!

I admit, Al,  that unit does have a boat load of features, flexibility and capability – also agree, that true redundancy is very hard (and generally expensive ) to achieve.  To achieve something similar to your two VIpec 88s from a redundancy perspective, I would have to get another EC2.   However, looking at all the capability and features of your unit, I would hazard a guess that it might be a bit much for a neophyte to deal with.

But, the important thing is that the unit meet your criteria for safe,  worry-free flying.
