I
removed the water thermostat and installed a cowl flap. Temps were fine,
but the thought of giving up speed to cooling losses kept me awake at
night. So, I installed a Ray Allen servo powered cowl flap, and guess
what? I picked up 11 mph (214mph TAS @ 6500msl, per EM-2). Not bad
for a day's work!

Mark;
Keep
up the good work! Maybe at some point you’ll be able to keep up with my Velocity – 229 mph per
EM2 at 6500 msl. O-o-o-o-o-o . . the gauntlet has been thrown!
HAPPY
NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris; here’s some
encouragement. Flying here yesterday – temp on the ground was 70; calm
wind, visibility about 100 miles, air as smooth as velvet, snow covered
mountains all around to the east. What a view! 20B going H-u-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m.
It was awful, tell all your friends not
to move hereJ.
