What else do you have to do before inspection? I removed the water thermostat and installed a cowl flap. Temps were fine, but the thought of giving up speed to cooling losses kept me awake at night. So, I installed a Ray Allen servo powered cowl flap, and guess what? I picked up 11 mph (214mph TAS @ 6500msl, per EM-2). Not bad for a day's work! Mark S. I thought your engine install was done?  What else do you have to do before inspection?

I removed the water thermostat and installed a cowl flap.  Temps were fine, but the thought of giving up speed to cooling losses kept me awake at night.  So, I installed a Ray Allen servo powered cowl flap, and guess what?  I picked up 11 mph (214mph TAS @ 6500msl, per EM-2).  Not bad for a day's work!
