Not sure which one you are talking about. One is on the side (5/8" heater port which should be blocked ) and a smaller one on the top which should go to your coolant expansion tank through a small diameter hose. This is the primary point where the block purges air. If you have this one blocked off, your coolant system is not configured as well as it could be. What about extending the hose a bit and replacing the plug with a snifter valve, or keeping the plug and using this hose as an auxiliary water filing point? It could easily be elevated to the highest point in the system and used as an air burping point on the ground.
