Hi Russel,
I may not write a lot at this time, but the RES12 and RES13 will not go away.
In addition to using my AVID as a test bed, I think the second engine will go into a SONEX.
I believe the rotary engine will only perform superior if used with a constant speed(in flight adjustable) prop. Fortunately, there are two props in the power range available, these are the Italian QUINTI and the Airmaster from Newseeland.
The prices seem to be reasonable.

Subject: [FlyRotary] Renesis single rotor

Greetings,

I've been on the gyro list, asking about the possibility of using a single rotor engine on a Dominator gyro.  Anyway, below is the reply that someone posted.  I've prodded him for more info, such as weighs for the housings, etc.  I'll pass along anything he gives me.

I have a project here underway involving the single rotor Mazda, we are using RX8 side port end housings, might be of interest to you? I plan to flight test this engine on the tandem Dominator. I don't like the Mazda rotary but after seeing the inards of the RX8 Renisis engine I'm way more interested! What we need to do is abandon the cast iron housings, but this is easier said than done due to thermal problems and maintaining sealing. Mazda have done it in the 24 hour race. It may be that the rotary is about to have its day in the sun! I'm sure we have all heard this before!
