Greetings,
I've been on the gyro list,
asking about the possibility of using a single rotor engine on a Dominator
gyro. Anyway, below is the reply that someone posted. I've
prodded him for more info, such as weighs for the housings, etc. I'll pass
along anything he gives me.

I have a project here underway involving the single rotor Mazda,
we are using RX8 side port end housings, might be of interest to you? I plan to
flight test this engine on the tandem Dominator. I don't like the Mazda rotary
but after seeing the inards of the RX8 Renisis engine I'm way more interested!
What we need to do is abandon the cast iron housings, but this is easier said
than done due to thermal problems and maintaining sealing. Mazda have done it in
the 24 hour race. It may be that the rotary is about to have its day in the sun!
I'm sure we have all heard this before!
