I know there is the 4 or 6 port.. did they change from year to year? Anyone have a good resource for this type of thing? I'll have to check my Hains manual.. > > [Greg, you may be correct.. their 20B manifold might just have cost more than your whole engine was purchased for! ] > > Jarrett > > No idea what it weighed. Just my assumption that it was less than stock. Intake wise, you have 4 generations of rotary 13b's.. the pre 1989, the 89-92, the 93-later, then the RX-8 Renesis engine think of it as 1st gen, 2nd gen, and 3rd gen.. Mazda splits it further.. into 5, with the series identifier starting with F.. FC and FD are the later generation engines Ours is a 2nd gen TURBO (4 port), whereas the normally aspirateds are 6 port. The intake configuration varies slightly by geometry from generation to generation. The one Tracy Crook "recommends" is the 2nd generation - his PSRU mates with the flywheel bolt pattern from that generation of engine..if I remember correctly. The gear wheel IS interchangeable from year to year.. You would get better information NOT from the Haines manual but from online aficionado websites. I speak from experience. Google it.. theres a lot out there. Dave
