Haven't had this problem before.  The instructions tell you to use wheel bearing grease to stick it in place.  If that doesn't work, I might suspect that the ring gear may not be seated correctly and is sticking out too far.
 
Let me know if it is still bothering you and not staying in place.

Forgot to ask you yesterday, and maybe I'm missing something, but as I go to slide the redrive down onto the bolts, that big O-ring has a tendency to go where it wants, and I wanted to ask you if there was a way to assure it was landing where it should.  Everything is dry assembled, and seems to line up, as I said yesterday, the crank and redrive seem lined up, and turn easily, and end play seems o.k., but that ring bothers me.  Any ideas?
