Early one morning at Sun & Fun, I was having
a cup of coffee sitting at table listening to several gents discussing restoring
antique aircraft. The group broke up and one noticing my "I Love Flying My
Mazda Rotary" button on my hat, came over and struck up a conversation. I
recall his first name was "Steve".
He told me about a guy he had talked with who had
a rotary flying in an RV-3. I first thought of Finn Lassen, then he went
on about the guy who lived in the Florida Pan Handle wanting to sell his
RV-3, but was going to take the rotary engine out first. Then the
guy stated that the fellow had sold the RV-3 with Mazda
engine to someone in Tennessee. Ah ha! I said, "Rusty Duffy?" -
That's him! Steve exclaimed!
