The original point I was trying to make was that just 1/4" lb at 2000RPM would make large forces.  Please forgive me for mentioning "reciprocating".  I understand that it is a fighting word around here 8*).  It isn't reciprocating, it is an off-center spin.  But as my washing machine with its weak springs demonstrates, an off-center spin can still shake the house.  Washing polyester shirts, instead of cotton jeans, makes the shaking much less.
