I can't see anyone else answering this so I will expose my limited knowledge and say, Stainless to stainless ( in most cases) use 316 grade welding rod. Steel to stainless uses the same rod  but you can't use steel welding rod on any stainless to steel. In other words you can weld steel with stainless rod but you can't weld stainless with steel rod.

Does anyone have an experience with the Mazda-Trix Stainless Steel exhaust manifold for fabricating a system?  Is it easier to have someone weld up stainless to stainless vs. steel to 304 SS tubing?
