brake fluid-compatable
Mark, ACI is the place where I ordered my PRF 83282
after my brake fire back in 2005.
I could not find it anyplace at the time where you
could get a quantity less than 1 gallon. Most FBO appear not
interested and are sticking with the more flammable 5606 - I mean there is
no point in switching if you're never going to have a hydraulic oil fire
{:>). The 83282 flash point is over 200F higher than that of the
5606

And they are both crap compared to modern automotive fluids! Sorry I
couldn't help myself. But that corn oil mung will never see the inside of my
brake cylinders. I'm not looking for an arguement just stating a fact.

You are undoubtedly correct, Bill.
However, aircraft insurance companies sometimes get picky about what is
substituted for "Aircraft approved" products. Also, There have
been a number of stories in the past about folks attempting to use
automotive brake fluid in aircraft brake systems only to find out their
seals were not compatible and ended up having to disassemble and replace
brake seals. So naturally, you want to make certain the entire system
components is compatible with what ever brake fluid you are
using.
