Hi Don,
You have probably tried a lot of things but there really was not a lot to go on in your report other than that the engine was flooded.
Here is a list of basic things you should be able to answer when asking for help on engine starting problems.
What did you do in trying to avoid flooding? What starting proceedure did you use? Are you getting spark when cranking the engine? (Diagnostic mode alone can't check the crank sensor path). What is the gap between sensor and trigger wheel? You say you installed the injector disable switches - Did you try using them when attempting to start the engine? Did you check each individual injector in the injector test mode? (remove connectors, plug in one at a time, listen for clicking). Is engine turning over the minimum speed for cranking (120 rpm?) Are you getting good compression? If so, what is it? Did you try firing the engine on starting fluid (no fuel pumps on) in order to see if the ignition would fire it?
BTW, Did to *really* un-pot the crank sensor???? (Don't do that!.) Or maybe I don't know what you mean by "un-pot".
Just one stab-in-the dark observation. If the only pop you got was when running the ignition diagnostic test, my guess is that you are not getting any spark during cranking.
