"03.2007 Certification of the G-300 engine is
officially launched"
"After several months of preparatory work,
Mistral Engines SA submitted to the FAA on March 20th 2007 an application for a
Type Certificate for its 300hp G-300-C2B engine. This application was assigned
project number TC9823AT-E by the FAA’s Atlanta Aircraft Certification
Office.
Mistral’s G-300 model will be certified as “lead-engine”. Type
Certificate applications for Mistral’s other models will follow in the next
months."
Having worked in this profession for almost 20 years,
it will take awhile to complete this process. The follow-on projects should
progress at a more rapid pace as both Mistral and the FAA will move down the
learning curve and it will become clear what are really the important aspects of
the testing and what are common across the product
line.
