Ed,  Thank you for the reply.

I understand the the EC2 is for both ignition and fuel injection but for now I want to limit its use to replacing the distributor.   I will be using a Ellison EFS-3A TBI.

There is a Corvair engine using the RWS EC2 for complete EFI being test for aircraft but it quite an expensive and technical undertaking to complete. Here's a link for those interested: http://www.flycorvair.com/hangar0807.html

Take care

Paul

Another thing to remember.  The EC2 provides for the fuel injection control as well as the ignition.   Paul, you did not state whether you also needed a EFI computer (could be using a carb or Ellison Throttle body for example), but if you do want EFI then the EC2 provides both injector and ignition control in one small inexpensive package.

Lynn,  Thank you for the reply and idea.  I know very little about electronic ignition and there seems to be many ways of building a DIS.

I leaning towards the RWS EC2 and six LS1 coils as it's been done on the Corvair engine and I already have the coils.  I wanted an individual coil per cylinder  to limit the loss to a single cylinder in the event of a coil failure.

Thanks again

Paul

I need to convert the Corvair engine to a Distributorless Ignition
System (DIS) and need an RWS EC2.
Or, a single reluctor on the front pulley, three Chrysler pickups, three Chrysler amplifiers and three double ended coils.
