It wouldn't surprise me at all that Mazda used the same pump on the
13B and the 20B; and that the one data point that I have may be for the
13B.
I have a 1989 13b 6-port (n/a) and a 199? 20B-REW and have heard of some builders that interchange the front covers. I was considering doing this to get my thermostat housing lower. While it is true that the 13B cover will fit on the 20B engine, I did notice that the 20B water pump impeller is about 1/8" larger than the one on the 13B. I don't know if this is the same pump used on the 13B-REW, but it is definitely larger than the 1989 n/a 13B pump. So, it would stand to reason that the flow for the 20B pump would be greater than that for the 13B (n/a).
