Todd and all,

As I understand it, the software is available to anyone who wants it.  In my case, I didn't even have mode 9 on my original version, and I certainly needed an upgrade to work with the eventual monitor-2 <G>, so it was well worth the upgrade.

The dual map feature will be nice, if I ever get around to tuning it, but tuning it hasn't been a priority yet.  When I descend, the air fuel meter is blank, below lean,  SNIP
, and lots of traffic around the area, it's just a little dicey to try to spend much time tuning in-flight.

Cheers,
Rusty (the new cowl is here)

The new software will be welcome.  The first time I ever noticed that phenomona was when flying formation with Tracy Crook.  I normally do not descend faster than 1000 fpm, rarily at 1500 fpm.  Well, when Tracy finds a hole in the clouds, he is not going to let it get away!  Trying to keep up with Tracy with his dive brakes retracted was different.   I found my VSI pegged at 2000 fpm down trying to keep up with him.  So my throttle is closed and the engine is still turning 5000+ due to the steep descent.   Suddenly,  the engine began stumbling and missing and my seat cushion became distored as my first thoughts were "Engine Problem".

I afterwards mentioned it to Tracy, and he said "Oh, yes, it'll do that" {:>)
