So I = am looking=20 forward to using the new software. Rusty, since you never flew with the = old=20 software, you have nothing to compare it to, but how do you like it? Is = it ready=20 for release to the rest of us? Tracy, any idea when this will be=20 available?

Todd=20 and all,

As I=20 understand it, the software is available to anyone who wants it.  = In my=20 case, I didn't even have mode 9 on my original version, and I certainly = needed=20 an upgrade to work with the eventual monitor-2 <G>, so it was well = worth=20 the upgrade.

The=20 dual map feature will be nice, if I ever get around to tuning it, but = tuning it=20 hasn't been a priority yet.  When I descend, the air fuel meter is = blank,=20 below lean, and the engine sometimes does miss a bit.  I can turn = up the=20 mixture to compensate, which is perfectly fine for now.  The second = MAP is=20 calibrated either in flight, during actual descents, or you = can do it=20 on the ground without the prop.  I'll probably do the initial cal = of the=20 second MAP table the next time I pull the prop to re-pitch, then I'll = touch it=20 up in flight.  Since I have a single seat plane, and lots of = traffic=20 around the area, it's just a little dicey to try to spend much time = tuning=20 in-flight.

Cheers,
Rusty=20 (the new cowl is here)
