I am using the "barreled crimped D-sub connectors" that I
purchased from B&C.
The pins I've used are from B&C but they
don't have that description. They're just dandy connectors, and I won't
consider using anything else. Here's the page-

I also use their RCT-3 crimper.

Maybe I will try the soldered ones, but my soldering skills are
mediocre at best...but improving <g>.
Don't even think about it
Chris.
I personally think that
Tracy could improve his quality of life by selling his items without any
sockets at all. He should just include Bob White's phone number, and also
offer a wiring kit that would include enough D-Sub pins, sockets,
wire, and a nice crimper. Here's what I think would
happen-
People who know about
wiring will already have most of this stuff, and will make their their
own. These people are not the biggest support problems.
People who would rather
pay to have it done right, will call Bob.
People who want to do
their own will take advantage of the kit, and have a much easier time of it than
trying to solder.
Finally,
the cheap bastards (haven't heard from Finn in a while <g>) will
scrounge their own parts, and might even solder them (yuck). This is
sort of a wildcard group, since CB's come in all skill
levels.
OR, Tracy could just
do what some businesses do, and require you to buy the harness complete,
then farm it out to Bob or some other place like
SteinAir.
Back to my computer
upgrade nightmare...
