Monty, any idea how much current the derusting draws. I used one of the $3 Harbor Freight multi-meters in series with my anodizing supply. It'll handle 10Amps. If the current draw is low enough (which I suspect it would be if the process takes 24hours), you could use a wall-wart as a supply.

The current is up to you. Less takes longer. There is some point where more only heats the water. I just set my battery charger on the 12V 15A setting. Now I know that there is no way this thing was drawing 15A. It also worked on the deep cycle 2A setting just more slowly. The amount of current the thing draws depends on the surface area of the anode and cathode. If you have a great big anode and cathode it will probably draw too much current and overload your battery charger unless it has some way to limit the current draw. Somewhere I came across a link where a guy built a big plywood tank, lined it with plastic and put an entire trailer frame in it. He hooked his welder up to the thing!! Worked like a champ.
