Ed,
Both pictures show two rotors. The one that looks
like it came off the titanic is the before. The other with the seals removed is
the after. The first one is rusted solid with no hope of salvage. The one
with the seals removed looked just like the other one when I
started.
I didn't do any polishing, just a quick rinse
under hot water with some soap. There is NO rust on the second one. The
process does not fix pitting, but it does remove all the rust.
Actually it converts it to magnetite, which is the
black stuff. So there are some pits with magnetite in them on the cleaned rotor.
I could probably do some sanding and cleaning to make it more impressive. The
picture doesn't do it justice.
Just try it on something you have laying around
that looks hopeless. You will become a believer.
