 Rusty,

I have been using a three-minute electronic timer (home-made) to transfer fuel.  The Facet pump moves about one GPH, so every time I push the button, I get three gallons.  Works great for lateral trim.

As for the fuel pumps, I only run on one except for takeoff and landing.  When I do a run-up, the last thing I do is turn on the second pump and watch for a 2-3 psi increase in fuel pressure.  That tells me it is working.  At 1000 feet agl, I turn off the second pump.  My theory is that by only running it for takeoff and landing, it gets very little wear and the filter will last a very long time.  If the primary pump or filter go south, I have a fresh pump and filter to take the load.

I'm still not completely satisfied with my fuel system.  It's hooked up just like Tracy's, and maybe I'll like it better if I ever get that automatic fuel transfer timer set up.  Hey Ed, weren't you the one making that at one time?

Cheers,
Rusty (young whipper snapper to you)
