Buly,
I can relate to your situation.  I just got my EC-2 back from getting the snubber upgrade and was hoping for a trouble-free start.  But alas, it was not to be.  I've been on the phone with Tracy so much this weekend that Laura has started answering the telephone with "Hello Mark".  ;-)

First thing I did wrong was I broke the cardinal rule for airplane trouble-shooting.  I changed more than one thing at a time.  I switched from the old style CAS to the Renesis style.  I had all the parts just sitting on the shelf and thought that while the EC-2 was at RWS getting the snubber upgrade I could go ahead and have it converted over to the newer CAS.  So now I'm not sure which way to go with my trouble-shooting efforts.

Before the upgrade, it would run great in the upper rpm ranges, but not down low (unless dropping the fuel pressure into the teens).  Now it is just the opposite (it idles and runs great up to around 2800 rpm, then it starts running really rough and mis-firing).  Tracy has been patiently helping me to systematically diagnose the symptoms.  By following Tracy's suggestions, it now runs great up to about 4200 rpm, then begins running rough as a cob.  I still have some things to try (as suggested by Tracy), but I need some resistors and Rat Shack was closed, so I called it quits and headed home.  I'll pick up where I left off next weekend.

So, patience my friend.  Tracy assured me that he will be monitoring his email.  He never promised to answer, just monirtor.  ;-)

This morning I was all primed up to fire my newly updated EC/EM.
Pulled the plane out got all set up and hit the primer button:
Silence? Tried starting: Nothing.
Pushed it back in the hangar and started trouble shooting.
Fuel pressure: Yes
Power to all 4 injectors: Yes
Grounded one at the time all 4 wires from the EC2 plug and all 4
injectors did "click"
Checked the injector return lines: they are grounded as they should be.
Called Tracy and he suggested testing Mode 8 spark plugs: worked fine
The EM2 is flashing 0/NOP where the RPM should be?
Since Tracy is leaving for 3 weeks on Tuesday, I'll have time to
follow up on ideas from all, incl. Tracy :)
When John Slade was here, we used to swap EC boards to make sure it
is not our fault. Now he's gone to CT.

BTW when you are testing the engine ignition in MODE 8 with the spark
plugs on the engine, make sure there is no one around the prop. My
engine fired momentary two times without the starter being engaged,
injectors off and fuel pumps off. Any fuel fumes inside will ignite
if you hit the Save button in Mode 8

Finally at 7 PM I felt in a dead end, shut the hangar and headed
home. Feel like where I was 2 years ago.
