Since it is quiet on the list, I'll report on my Sunday breakfast flight from Ft Lauderdale Exec. to Okeechobee, which is on the border of my test area. I was getting tired waiting for the strong winds that have been blowing for 4 weeks straight, to die down. So this morning pushed the CZ out and took off with 38 Gal of fuel and 400 lbs on the front seat. The wind was 30 degree to the right at 15 mph and gusting to 25. I was airborne at about 1200 ft  and engine running at 6-6500 rpm.
There were two items I wanted to check on this flight. I had my new wheel pants installed, and as expected I gained 10K at cruise.
The other was loud staticky noise in my headsets, that came on only at high RPM and cruise. After weeks and months of trying everything, I zeroed on the secondary injectors. They are the only thing that kicks in at high rpm. Found one crimp connector splice that was done by my electronics engineer neighbor, totally loose. The metal part inside was blue from heat (created from the sparking I guess?). So I had it fixed. The noise is gone and me and my  flight captain are happy.
Leveled at 6000 ft and set the plane for cruise. Here are the numbers:
5200 RPM ENGINE
2350 RPM PROP
24" MP
TAS 168-170K
1650 EGT
8 - 8.5 GPH  FUEL BURN
WP-4 PSI
WT - 165F
OIL 140F
OIL P. 70PSI
OAT 71F

I was able to bring the mixture down to 7 - 7.5 gph but I can feel the power go down. I know it is not as impressive as a turbo engine, but gives me a piece of mind. It runs very clean and smooth and I don't think like before about boost, mixture, detonation, etc. etc. On the ground I did not have to even wipe the prop from sooth.
Both landings were in cross winds and it worked out very well considering my limited piloting skills :)
Bottom line, I like my plane and the rotary. Now I'm itching to replace it with PP so I can use the third blade on my IVO Magnum . It is a sickness
I tell you :).
19 hrs and 21 to go before I can fly outside the cage. Now it takes me 35 minutes to get to the border of my test area and the same back.

Buly
