Gerhard,

I wouldn't be hesitant about buying it, BUT I would use it to get yourself familiar with these engines and possibly spare parts. So don't pay too much.

On another front, If I was doing this again, I would buy a Renesis engine from Bruce!  It has all the modes done, and all the necessary stuff that will drive you crazy trying to accomplish yourself.  I probably have as much money in my used engine as it would cost for Bruce's zreo time engine. I have done probably 15 different brackets to support the end of the intake manifold, too weak, in the way of the throttle linkage, etc.  I also spent a week trying to find the parts to hook up the feed line for Tracy's redrive.  It's the small things that will drive you CRAZY.

I am still a LONG WAY from hanging the powerplant on my Cozy, but thought it
might be worth while starting to learn more about the engine and rebuild it

I came across a rotary engine that someone pulled out of an RX7 (replaced
it).

This is what he said about it:
Basic engine block with no fuel injectors, no alternator, no starter,
includes pressure plate, clutch disck, power steering pump, all pulleys, no
belts no hoses.  Reason replaced has one blown seal on rotor.... make offer

Is this worth while?  Would I end up putting much more into this than it is
worth?

If so, what does one offer for such an engine?  I would suspect not much.
