In response
to question 2, you can get AN hose fitting
reducers from Earl’s Performance Products that should do what you want.
The fittings are available from a lot of
places on the web, such as: http://www.chassisshop.com/catalog.htm (look for the Earl’s Plumbing catalog approximately
mid-way down the page on the left). Page 17 of
the catalog has a conversion chart from hose sizes in inches (such as
5/8”) to AN sizes (such as 10).
I order my
fittings from anplumbing.com. http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/index.php?

I have two
plumbing questions (for now :) )
1. Can
I put a plug in hole on top of the engine at the front? I believe
Tracy has put an elbow fitting on his and then run 3/8ths inch hose to
the high point on the water pump "tower" (for lack of a better term).
I'm not sure if this is required to help "burp" the system of air or
not but the prior builder flew it with a water temp / pressure sender
in the hole so it is tapped already.
2. Is
there a good way to reduce the 5/8ths inch hose that will be required
to exit out the bottom of my Volvo coolant pressure tank to the 3/8ths
inch size that is coming out of the high point of my system (at the cap
on water pump housing? I have spend quite a bit of time "on-line"
searching for something to use and haven't been able to discover a
suitable fitting yet.
