Powersport gear box now sold by Atkins.
Good engineering, solid, heavy, expensive. As a comparison, the RWS gear box costs less than 1/2 the cost of this gear box (unless Atkins has recently decreased their price), does the same job and weights about 20 lbs less (41 vs 61 lbs). That 20 lbs additional stuck out on the end of the nose (or tail) can be undesirable.
It does have an offset which can help with cowl clearance. Better than most offered for sale, but still expensive. However if one is building a Lancair ES then the $$ difference is almost insignificant in the total cost of things.
Personally, I could have a nice rebuild engine AND an RWS gearbox for around the price of this gearbox along. I think its a good gear box for the right application and pocketbook.
