Mazda says premium 91 oct.  I use 87 oct in the airplane and only *think* I detected detonation once during some advanced ignition timing tests.   Most RX-8 drivers who have tried both always seem to say that both performance and fuel economy are better on 87.  Go figure.  There are some legitimate  reasons why this could be true.

Iwas building a Renesis before I found and changed to a 20B.  Due to the
10:0 compression, I was planning on super or 100LL to avoid possible
detonation.  If memory serves me, this was also Bruce T's recomendation.
