Brazil was great, 4 weeks there and I started to pick up the language.  My
friend Barbalho is an air traffic controller at the Curitiba Center, he
arranged for me to visit the control tower at Curitiba airport.  They do as
good a job as they can with the equipment that they have.  when I visited I
was told the primary radar had been out of service for the past 30 days, not
enough dinheiro to fix it, and the backup was sometimes dropping off line
for a few minutes at a time. There jobs became the center of focus after the
mid air between the 737 and Legacy in northern Brazil. Even though they were
not involved they are now forced to go by every rule no matter how trivial
it is.
I am off to the Dominican Republic next week and then back to Brazil in
June, and then again in August, in-between I will make time to attend Sun n
Fun, and what ever you plan.  Also waiting for warmer weather to resolve
tank leaks.

I would also like to hear from Ed Klepeis if he monitors this list, give me
a call.
