What do you propose to use for an oil pan? A complete flat plat is usually a dry sumped engine.

One plan is to do what I did on the Kolb setup.  I'd use a flat plate, with ports for drain, and oil pump suction.  Not far below the engine would be an oil to water heat exchanger, that would act as the sump, and cooler all in one.   I'm not totally committed to the idea, but it seemed to be working well on the Kolb setup.  
 
BTW, I hate to admit it, but I have no idea what you were trying to show me with that last drawing.
