My engine started immediately today!  Probably = between=20 first and second
blades!  It also ran very smoothly.  Thank = God and=20 thank you, Tracy!

Congrats.  I'm sure=20 you deserve quite a bit of the credit :-)

My first = thought when=20 reading this was a bad electrical connection, as others have = mentioned.  Do=20 check that, but...

I am going to try and move the starter a little in the mount on=20 Tracy's
drive to provide a little relief in case it is binding.  = I do=20 not know
if this is possible...(how much slop is in the starter hole = on the=20 drive)

I had to do this very = thing on either=20 the RV-3, or the single rotor engine (can't remember=20 which).   I do recall the bendix gear not retracting, and I = even=20 believe I recall that it wouldn't turn.  If the fit of the = gear is so=20 tight that it won't let the gear move all the way forward, I believe = that also=20 prevents the high current contacts inside the solenoid from = connecting the=20 motor to 12V.

If I were to continue = guessing, I'd say=20 it might even work tomorrow, when it's cool.  = The warm=20 gears might have expanded just enough to keep them from engaging as = far as=20 they did when they were cold.

All in all, sounds like = you had a great=20 first run!
