it wasn't until I attended a meeting of the northwest blacksmiths that I saw what "real" tool collectors were like.  I had never seen a drill press with an arm 8' deep.  for one class we used a bulldozer blade for a blackboard that was like 7' tall and 14' wide!  even their work tables were big (4" thick plate steel!).  it's an illness, no doubt.

"Not in a million years could we tempt you to inch a millimeter closer to bying a --- no, can't say it."

Damned shame we all don't live closer together. Between the museum shop and my home shop, I have four mills, seven lathes (not including another 2 at a buddy's shop), four bench grinders, two 12" shapers, two drill presses, MIG, TIG, stick, and two oxy-acetlyene rigs. I'm the king of swarf!! Now if I just had a couple of grand to put a concrete floor in my big shop so I could get back to work on my airplane (no, I ain't sellin' the tools to do it).  Mike C.
