Starting current is very large compared to the other items. If you are looking at a modern battery such as an Odessey, it has very low internal resistance so can deliver plenty of cranking current. The item to size your battery is how many amp-hours do you wish to have in reserve. I flew my airplane (13B) for an hour with the alternator off before the voltage started it's rapid roll off. These batteries will hold voltage until about empty. Bernie
