No comment about which gear set is better,
but we know the Ford set has many hundreds or thousands of flight-proven hours.
One concern I have is if the engine fails
there is nothing in the design of any gear box and a Rotary engine to stop or
reduce propeller wind milling.
Has anyone experienced and engine out and
have any testimonies as to what happens?

My point with regards to the planetary gearsets was, any part will fail
if given a cause, remove the cause and fly happy, thanks, David (RWS; EC2,EM2,
RD-1B= planetary gearset driven)
