Wow! Bob!7500 rpm at 100 mph. Yes, me thinks this is a case where you are considerably " under-propped". The most I've ever been able to get out of my older 13B is 6800 rpm with the 2.85 and 74x88 prop. My nominal top rpm in flight is 6500 rpm. So I do think you could use a bit more prop.
Hope it turns out your temps are better than initially thought - although that could be cured (with a little more work).
Great to have you in the air.

Thanks Tracy, and all other well wishers. I really appreciate your
comments.
I have some indication that the temps might not have been as high as I
thought. I need to recheck my calibrations. I was also seeing 7500
rpm at about 100 mph and climbing at 500 fpm. That doesn't leave me a
lot of room to go faster so I think my prop isn't going to work even as
well as I had hoped. I will just call this my Cessna 150 emulation
mode.

I finally got my plane in the air, lifting off at 7:50AM this morning.
OAT was about 40F. Flew for about 20 minutes, did one stall and landed
to check everything.
I bobbled around a bit on take off getting used to the control feel.
Landing was uneventful.
I will need to do some work on cooling as I expected. The oil cooler
location is poor with not enough room behind it and oil temps are
running about 10-15 deg warmer than the water. Both are too high for
summer time flying. Max oil temp was about 220F, so it was higher than
I wanted to see. I also want to recheck the calibration on the sensors
just to make sure I didn't mess that up.
Another rotary is now flying at least a little. Send me one of those
buttons Tracy! :)
