If I remember correctly the HTS2000 rod flows at 725 degrees F.

Thanks for the thoughts on fin construction techniques.  I don't have access to an oven for any brazing.  I don't think you'd want to use the kitchen over, plus I've been banned from the kitchen following a previous incident involving the drying out of desiccant plugs in the microwave  :-0      (BTW, don't do that :-)
 
I'll file this away for later reference.
