It has been rumored that a fellow by the name of Rusty
Duffy built an RV-3 with a rotary engine.  Now I know
such a plane exists since I own it, however, at last
years rotary roundup at Tracy and Laura's house there
was no one who had ever seen him!!!!  Some thought
that I was he in disguise.  There have been some modifications most  notably the
installation of the Mazda oil cooler, rerouting of the
engine air intake and mods to the cowl(let's not
forget the shortening of the prop 7/8" each end).  It
flys about 7 mph faster at 20 inches and if I could
get the exhaust temp down I could check top speed.

Right now it is in the process of paint preparation. Hope it will be finished for the October fly in. (Maybe that Rusty fellow will be there!)

Yea, I'm not too sure that Rusty fellow even exists. No one's ever seen him at a Rotary event.
I'm betting that you actually built the plane & made up 'Russell Duffy' so you wouldn't have to take all that abuse about the BUC. ;-)
