I am about to mount the crotch
straps for my seat belts and have not really found an optimal place to drill the
hole and bolt it to. What have some of you all done about this?

An RV question like this will probably get more response if
you ask it on the VAF forum. There are a lot of folks there
building RV-9's, and just a few
here.
I don't know anything about the RV-9, but are you saying
that Van doesn't give a location for the crotch strap
anchor?
