Hi all,
aren't there at least 2 kinds of Silicone out
there?
The regular stuff - used to glue/seal up
whatever you like (Aquariums have some special goo, that doesn't kill
fish...),
then there is a couple of them "oxygene sensor
safe" that do not have all that corroding action as the regular kind, saw them
in "hightemp red", "black", I assume there is a "white" and "clear/transparent"
one too....
However it is written on the tubes/cardrigdes in a
pretty obvious way, you should find it easy...
My 2cents,
Thomas J.

George, while I use silicone on the intakes for sealing,
I do used the perforated metal gasket for the exhaust. However, Tracy
(and Lynn I believe) uses the orange (high temp) silicone and has never
reported any problem with the O2 sensor that I am aware of.

Ed /David,
I was told, the other day, that silicone on the
exhaust manifold buggers up the oxygen sensor. Don't know if it was true of
not but if your running with and oxygen sensor might be something to watch
out for.

Hey Ed, did you use a gasket between upper & lower intakes or
silicone sealer. Now one for the RV guys with Fred
Breeze eng. mount ( www.conversionconcepts.com)
how much eng. movement do you get under the cowel, I am setting
clearances now with a min. of .5" , but please let me know if
I'm to tight, I think thats it for now, thanks again,
David RV6A
Rotary.
